News & Updates

Early Submission Deadlines for Holiday 2025

University closed Wednesday, December 24 - Thursday, January 1, 2026. To ensure all tasks and deadlines are completed before the upcoming closure, the following early submission timelines have been established.

School/Division ePAR Approvals

Wednesday, December 10 at Noon

Submission date to process for the December (MO6) monthly payroll.

Campus Journals

Friday, December 12 at 5:00 p.m.

All departmental approvals required by this date to reach OSP Pre-Audit.

FICA Corrections for 2025

Monday, December 15 at Noon

Lockout date for December (MO6) monthly payroll.

Tango and Greenphire Requests

Tuesday, December 16 at 5:00 p.m.

Vouchers must be fully approved by this deadline to process prior to closure.

Proposal Submissions

Thursday, December 18 at Noon

Proposals due during the closure period and through January 6 - without Organizational COI or through January 9 - with Organizational COI.

Last Day for PAAT Processing in 2025

Monday, December 22

Deadline to submit for correcting entries to post in December.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR) offers resources and guidance on swiftly changing Federal guidelines and requirements.

Ask OSP

Q: How do I budget charges for shipping and equipment?

A: When budgeting for Capital Equipment: Always combine shipping with the purchase price and charge the total capitalized cost to the equipment account code.

When budgeting for Supplies: Include shipping with the supply cost unless the shipment combines items for multiple purposes/recipients. If the exact shipping cost cannot be easily and accurately attributed to the specific supply item, then separate the shipping cost from the supply account code.

Action Required: Research Participant Payment Reporting for 2025

Report payments totaling $400 or more per participant in 2025 if payments were made via petty cash, imprest accounts, cash advances, gift cards, or UNC Tango accounts.

December Early Payroll

December payroll processing lockouts will occur earlier than usual. Please note the shorter turnaround times and earlier deadlines for the M06 and B12 pay periods.

New Concur Expense Report User Interface

Effective Dec. 8 or 9, Concur will launch a new Expense Report user interface.

Register for the next RAPP Session

The Research Administration Peer-to-Peer (RAPP) group will host its final session of 2025 on Thursday, December 11 at Noon. This meeting will highlight recent policy and procedure changes as well as gather feedback and ideas for future RAPP improvements.
