New OSP Website is Live

The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) is pleased to announce our new website is now available at osp.unc.edu. Redirects from our existing website are in place for limited pages. NIH T32 Grant Training Reminder Decorative Image

Updated Fringe Rates for FY 2024

Effective January 1, 2024, there are now three fringe benefit rates instead of one composite rate for permanent employees. Read Post

Subagreement Pre-Drafting Action & Response Certification (SPARC) Released 

SPARC is an online form designed to streamline the process for requesting subagreements actions and improve their timely execution. Read Post

Holiday Closure Reminder

The University will be closed Monday, December 25, 2023, through Monday, January 1, 2024. As a reminder, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) and the School of Medicine’s Sponsored Programs Office (SOMSPO) will not be available to process proposal and award transactions during this period. Both OSP and SOMSPO reopen on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

A: The Research Data Management Core (RDMC) website has pre-award and data guidance, as well as tools and resources to help with building Data Management Plans. If you are new to the process, or you just need some guidance, the RDMC site is a great place to start.

December Month-End Accounting Deadline
Due to the University's upcoming holiday closure, the month-end accounting deadline is December 22. See all deadlines and dates.  

Partial Period Proration on Monthly Payroll
Effective with the January 2024 monthly payroll, partial period proration for persons on the monthly payroll will be updated to a workday methodology instead of a calendar-day methodology. Read Post
