Updated Subrecipient Letters of Intent

Both the incoming and outgoing subrecipient letters of intent have been updated to include UEI as an identifier. See the OSR Forms and Tools page for the new forms.


New Certification of Liability Coverage

The Certificate of Liability Coverage effective February 1, 2022 has been uploaded to the Information Sheet.


Retroactive Payments & Sponsored Projects

In January 2022, the Fiscal Year 2022 Legislative Salary Increases (LSI) were implemented as retroactive payments for the work period from July - December 2021. Continued
 

New PACT Initiative

Proposal Award Communication Teamwork (PACT) is a new initiative centered around effective communication approaches among departments and central offices to support Research Administration at UNC. Continue

New critical requirements for NIH Other Support and Biosketch processes now In place effective January 25, 2022. Continue

FWA for the Protection of Human Subjects Updated

The Federal-wide Assurance for the Protection of Human Subjects (FWA) certification now expires February 14, 2027, and has been updated on the Information Sheet.
 

Sponsored Projects Notification Update

Effective for all budget changes entered after February 4, 2022, a notification will now be sent for clinical trials, interest and income programs, and Billing Per Unit projects. Continued
 

Updated NIH Salary Cap

Per NOT-OD-22-076, effective January 2, 2022, the Executive Level II NIH Salary Cap is $203,700. Continued

Travel Mileage Update 2022

Effective January 1, 2022, when a personal vehicle must be used, the allowable standard mileage rate is 58.5 cents per mile. Continue


Annual Terms of Use

If you use ConnectCarolina, InfoPorte, or Tarheel Reports (RAMReports), effective January 28, 2022, if you haven't accepted the Terms of Use within the past year, you’ll see a banner message indicating you need to complete this action. Continue

 

NSF Moves to UEI

Effective February 28, 2022, the National Science Foundation (NSF) will begin using the new System for Award Management (SAM) issued Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) in Research.gov and FastLane. UNC's UEI is located on the OSR Information Sheet.
 

Correcting Transactions in GradStar

Changes to chartfields are common and many can be done in GradStar. Please check with The Graduate School, the Office of Scholarships and Student Aid, or the Cashiers Office if you have questions about how a change may impact a student. Continue


State Health Insurance, TSERS & ORP Employee Contribution Changes

Effective January 1, 2022, the TSERS employer contribution rate increased from 21.86% to 24.10%, and the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) employer disability and retiree health contribution rate decreased from 6.77% to 5.99%. Continue
